Refund Policy

The Life Sciences Perspectives (LSP) is committed to maintaining a transparent and fair process for its authors and contributors. While LSP is an open-access journal, meaning there are no subscription fees for readers to access content, the journal may charge authors for certain services, such as publication fees, if applicable.

Key Aspects of the Refund Policy:

  1. Publication Fees:

    • Authors may be required to pay publication fees for accepted articles. These fees are typically used to cover the costs of editing, peer review, typesetting, and other editorial services necessary for the publication of the article.
    • Fees may be charged in the form of article processing charges (APCs) or other related costs, which will be clearly outlined on the journal’s website or during the submission process.
  2. Refund Eligibility:

    • Refunds are only applicable if an article has not yet been published (i.e., it is still in the review, revision, or pre-publication stage).
    • If an article is withdrawn by the author before being published or accepted, the author may be eligible for a refund, minus any administrative fees, as long as the withdrawal request is made within a reasonable time frame (e.g., before peer review has been completed).
    • If an article is rejected by the journal during peer review or after submission but before final publication, the publication fees may be refunded, but the refund will depend on the specific circumstances and the stage of the submission process.
  3. Non-Refundable Fees:

    • Once an article has been accepted for publication and the final manuscript has been submitted for production, publication fees are generally non-refundable.
    • If the manuscript is withdrawn after acceptance or publication, no refund will be issued.
    • Fees for services such as expedited peer review or special requests may be non-refundable if the service has already been rendered.
  4. Refund Process:

    • Authors requesting a refund must submit a formal request to the journal’s editorial team, including the manuscript ID, a reason for the refund request, and any relevant details.
    • Requests for refunds should be made within a reasonable time frame, as specified in the journal’s guidelines.
    • The refund process will typically take 4 to 6 weeks from the date of the approval of the refund request.
    • Refunds will be processed via the same method of payment used for the transaction, and the author will be notified once the refund has been issued.
  5. Exceptional Circumstances:

    • In cases of exceptional circumstances, such as an error made by the journal in the handling of the manuscript or an issue with the peer review process, the journal may review the situation and offer partial or full refunds at its discretion.
    • Any decisions regarding refunds in exceptional cases will be made on a case-by-case basis by the editorial board.
  6. No Refund on Donations or Voluntary Contributions:

    • Any voluntary donations, sponsorships, or contributions made to support the journal’s operations, research funding, or special issues are not refundable.

By maintaining this refund policy, LSP aims to ensure fairness and transparency in its financial transactions, while supporting authors through a professional and efficient publishing process.
